Hi, all. Welcome back to my blog. Today I wanted to give you a general idea of my sketching series called Sketch On Saturday which I started on 22nd November, 2014.
Well, this is a series wherein I share a sketch from my sketchbook every Saturday. I share the sketch on all of my social media platforms on Saturday morning.
As we know as an artist it is really important to be in practice with the basic sketching skills. So I decided to make it a habit to do sketching on a regular basis and what’s better than sharing my drawings with you all.
All of my sketches are in a grid with images in a step by step format. I also state the pencils I use with each step so that you can also draw it at home if you wish!
To start with, my first series was Animals. I chose animals with different fur and skin textures so that I learn to the most. I explored a lot and loved making all the sketches.
I concluded the series after the completion of my tenth sketch which was of a tiger. If you want to see all the sketches from my animal series you can find them in the gallery section of my website!
My ongoing second series is Trees which I started on 31st Jan, 2015.
To be frank trees are my personal favorite since childhood. There is something about trees that appeals to me whether it be in colors or in greys, in full bloom or in the fall. I just love them all. So I decided to explore them in depth.
I update my website gallery with all new sketches every week. So do not forget to stop by and take a look at what I have done so far!
I loved making each and every sketch in my sketchbook. Each sketch brings with it a different approach and I love that surprise about it.
Both of the series so far are in pencil. But I might explore other mediums as well. I hope you will join me in this exciting journey and explore the world around us through art.Will come back soon with another post. Till then happy painting!
